ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Marilyn (Micki) Gordon is the Assistant Chief Executive Officer and Senior Director of Development for the Jewish Council for the Aging (JCA), the largest charitable agency in the National Capital Region dedicated exclusively to meeting the needs of local elders. Gordon, oversees, for the past twenty -two years, The Productive Aging Award Dinner dedicated to the fact that “Ability is Ageless,” honorees have included: Alan and Arlene Alda, Dr. C Everett Koop, Katharine Graham, Mike Wallace, Eunice & Sargent Shriver, Cokie & Steve Roberts, Edgar Bronfman, Sr. and Doris Kearns Goodwin and Richard Goodwin.  In addition, she has been the staff liaison (for nine years) for the 50+ Employment Expo which serves the Greater Washington, D.C. area helping older workers gain full time, part-time and seasonal employment.

A frequent lecturer at local and national symposia also has appeared on CNN Headline News, Good Morning America newscasts and other broadcasts with information on productivity and age and on high-technology programs that demonstrate that ability is ageless.  Her interviews have run on the AP wires, through the Scripps-Howard News Service and via many other outlets.  She has advised several Fortune 500 companies on how to reach and serve the fast growing market of consumers age 55+.

Frequently a volunteer for local sectarian and nonsectarian organizations, Gordon holds a degree in education and has published a book entitled The Fundraising Manual A Step By Step Guide To Creating The Perfect Event.  She lives in Gaithersburg, Maryland with her husband and she is the mother of three sons and six grandchildren.
